Animal welfare refers to the quality of life experienced by an animal and encompasses how well the animal is coping with his or her current situation and surroundings. This campaign believes animal welfare is affected by the relationships human beings have with animals and it is our duty to ensure all animals are treated humanely, responsibly, and with respect.
The shocking animal cruelty cases reported everyday is just the tip of the iceberg- most cases are never reported. Unlike violent crimes against human, cases of animal abuse are not compiled by state or federal agencies, making it difficult to calculate just how common they are. The animal whose abuse is most often reported are dogs and cats especially those strays.
This advocate of mine believes that animals have legal rights and are members of the moral community. As such animals should not be used by purpose. Non-human animals should be treated humanely and without unnecessary suffering, but otherwise are available for humans to use for food, clothing, research, and entertainment. I as a human who cares about animals, willing to do anything and take any risk in order to serve as the animals’ voice. Also to spread the necessary knowledge to others in order to avoid animal cruelty and create a safe environment not only for humans but also for nature and animals.
